Olivier A.: Notes on the taxonomic status and supposed biogeographic affinity of the Pseudochazara anthelea (Hübner, [1824]) populations from Kípros (Cyprus) and from the Greek island of Kós (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae Satyrinae).
Phegea 24(1): 5–12.
In 1916 Rebel described Pseudochazara anthelea acamanthis from the island of Cyprus using a series of characters. The same author reported the presence of this same subspecies from the Greek island of Kós in 1936, suggesting a close biogeographical affinity between the population of both islands. The several characters of P. anthelea acamanthis are revised critically in this paper and after comparison with an extensive series of material from Turkey and the East Aegean islands, it is concluded that these characters fall within the normal variability of the nominal race. Therefore, P. anthelea acamanthis is synonymized and the alleged biogeographical affinity is invalidated.

Beshkov S.: Yigoga flavina flavina (Herrich-Schäffer, 1852) = Yigoga flavina pretiosa (Caradja, 1931) syn. n., stat. rev. (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae: Noctuinae).
Phegea 24(2): 69–80.
Following the author's study of a large quantity of material from Bulgaria and several specimens from Asiatic Turkey, Yigoga flavina pretiosa (Caradja, 1931) syn. n. is considered to be just a colour form of Yigoga flavina flavina (Herrich-Schäffer, 1852). Both former subspecies are syntopic and synchronic in Bulgaria and show intermediate forms. These, together with the absence of any differences in the male and female genitalia, including everted vesica, are the reasons for making the synonymy. With two colour plates.

Olivier A.: The butterflies of the Greek island of Kálimnos (Lepidoptera: Hesperioidea & Papilionoidea).
Phegea
24(4): 149–156.
After a short introduction on the island of Kálimnos and the published research on its butterfly fauna, the 31 butterfly species knwon to occur on this island are discussed. Twelve species are recorded here for the first time for the island. Except one, all species occurring on Kálimnos also occur on Kós. The butterfly fauna of Léros also shows affinity to the one of Kálimnos and Kós. No taxonomic differentiation is noted in none of the species. These islands separated only 9000 years ago from each other and from the Turkish mainland. It can be assumed that about 90% of the butterfly fauna of Kálimnos is known.

The undersides of P. andronicus and P. icarus seem to show considerable differences when they are photographed under ultra-violet light: in P. andronicus alle light parts are reflected strongly while they are not reflecting at all in P. icarus. As a consequence the underside of P. icarus looks much darker and less contrasting.
