Schurian K. G.: Observations on the pre-imaginal stages of Polyommatus (Aricia) torulensis (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae).
Phegea 30(2): 55–60.
Between the years 1994 and 1996 the biotope of Polyommatus (Aricia) torulensis Hesselbarth & Siepe, 1993 in the Northeast of Turkey was visited three times, to get some facts about the ecology and biology of this blue. The eggs are deposited in the wild on the leaves of a Geranium species with violet flowers and bright leaves. The plant grows on steep west situated cliffs which are difficult accessible. Few eggs were obtained in captivity, from which 20% of the larvae hatched during late summer. From the remaining eggs the larvae hatched in spring. The rearing was less successful because of cannibalism, only 1 female and 1 male hatched, both of them were very large. The larva and pupa produce substrate-borne vibrations when disturbed. The larva possesses in the third and fourth instar a dorsal nectary organ on A7 and paired eversible tentacle organs on A8. Whether torulensis can be considered to be a separate species depends on the results of further studies within the Aricia group.

Hellers M.: The Tortricids of Luxemburg: an annotataed checklist (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae).
Phegea 30(2): 61–79.
This is a commented list of all species of Tortricoid moths discovered in Luxembourg until now. The number of species collected totals 269 species. The list contains details about the observed behaviour of the moths, the foodplant of their larvae and the biotope in which they have been observed. The distribution of rare species and their repartition in the abroad neighbourhood is compared. Species marked with '*' must be added for Luxembourg to the checklist edited by Karsholt & Razowski (1996). Species marked with two '*' should be deleted, being identification errors. Two species not yet recorded from the abroad neighbourhood have been discovered in Luxembourg: Notocelia tetragona (Stephens, 1834) and Cydia lobarzewskii (Nowicki, 1860).

Kolev Z.: Critical notes on some recent butterfly records (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea & Hesperioidea) from Bulgaria and their source collection.
Phegea 30(3): 95–101.
The author reviews several cases of proven or suspected errors in label data in the collection of Alexander Slivov kept at the Institute of Zoology - Sofia (IZS), Bulgaria. It is argued that these errors are attributable to mislabelling of material collected elsewhere, and it is concluded that records based on such material should, in the absence of independent confirmation, be considered highly doubtful and preferably disregarded altogether. This is of particular importance in the case of species not recorded from Bulgaria before, of which several (Pyrgus andromedae, Muschampia proto, Boloria titania, Pseudochazara graeca, Pseudochazara geyeri and Chilades trochylus) have recently been published as new to the country. Of these, only the record of P. andromedae from Mt. Pirin has been independently confirmed. The findings of the present report lead to the exclusion of Rhodopi Mts. from the range of Boloria graeca. It is also shown that the type series of the taxa Smoljana Slivov, 1995 and Boloria (Smoljana) rhodopensis Slivov, 1995 has apparently originated not from Rhodopi at all but from the northern part of Mt. Pirin.
