Hellers M .: Enolmis acanthella, a new species for Central Europe (Lepidoptera: Scythrididae).
Phegea 29(1): 5–8.
Enolmis acanthella (Godart, 1824), a species known from SW Europe and NW Africa, is spreading its distribution area. It has first been sighted in 1988 in France near Nancy. Since 1991 it regularly occurs in a western suburb of the city of Luxemburg. In 1998, a new locality in the south-eastern part of Luxemburg has been discovered. In 1999, it has been collected in Saarland (Germany), and in 2000 in the south of Luxemburg. According to the literature, the first instars feed on lichens, which could explain such a spreading.

Coutsis J. G.: Skippers, Butterflies, Burnets and Harvesters from the Greek island of Límnos, a Skipper new to the Greek island of Santoríni and two Butterflies new to the Greek island of Síros (Lepidoptera: Hesperioidea, Papilionoidea, Zygaenidae).
Phegea 29(1): 9–17.
An annotated list of butterflies (Hesperioidea & Papilionoidea) and Zygaenidae of the Greek island of Límnos is presented, based on personal observations of the author (October 1999, April, June and September 2000), and literature records. 31 species of butterflies and 2 Zygaenidae are recorded. Only 2 former mentioned species and 2 doubtful records were not seen by the author. The species poorness on the island of Límnos is explained by the small area of the island, the important isolation, the low diversity of landscapes, and moreover an overgrazing and frequent fires. The fauna shows apparent affinities with the one of the Greek mainland, and not with that of Turkey. Some observations on the islands of Santoríni and Síros are also mentioned. Respectively 2 and 1 butterfly species are mentioned as new for these islands.

Coutsis J. G., De Prins J. & De Prins W.: The chromosome number and karyotype of the two morphs of Polyommatus (Lysandra) coridon from Greece (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae).
Phegea 29(2): 63–71.
Polyommatus (Lysandra) coridon (Poda, 1761) is represented in Greece by two morphs, the first one having males whose upperside is rather dull bluish-grey with silvery-yellow reflections and the second one having males whose upperside is silvery-blue. The first morph was described as the nominal taxon "L.[ycaena] Coridon var. graeca" by Heyne ([1895]), and even though no specific locality of capture was included, the description was undoubtedly based on specimens derived from either central Greece or the Pelopónnisos. This morph is somewhat reminiscent superficially of Polyommatus (Lysandra) hispanus (Herrich-Schäffer, 1851) and inhabits the Pelopónnisos, central Greece and the central and western part of northern Greece, while the second morph, described as "Lysandra philippi" by Brown & Coutsis (1978), based on a supposed chromosome number of n=20-26, and quite similar superficially to nominotypical P. (L.) coridon (n=87-92), inhabits the eastern part of northern Greece. It has also been reported to the first author that on Mt. Vermió, central part of northern Greece, both these morphs, as well as intermediates, fly together. In this paper, the chromosome number and karyotype of both morphs are described, illustrated and compared. The karyotype of both morphs turns out to be identical, while only small differences are observed in the number of chromosomes between "graecus" (n=93) and "philippi" (n=88-90). Based on this karyological identity and the occurrence of intermediate forms, both morphs are considered as mere colour forms of nominotypical P. (L.) coridon.
