De Prins W.: Porrittia galactodactyla (Lepidoptera: Pterophoridae) wel degelijk een Belgische soort.
Phegea 45(1): 2–5.
De eerste vermelding van Porrittia galactodactyla (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) door de Sélys-Longchamps (1844) bleek om een foutieve identificatie te gaan, maar tijdens recente beheerswerken in het KBIN werden vijf exemplaren van deze soort aangetroffen die gekweekt werden uit rupsen op Arctium lappa, de eerste gevonden op 18.v.1907 in het Bois de Blaugies te Dour en de andere op 17.v.1941 gevonden in het Bois de Colfontaine te Colfontaine, allebei ten zuidwesten van Mons (Henegouwen), beide leg. A. Dufrane. Deze soort mag dus nu met zekerheid aan de Belgische lijst worden toegevoegd.

Goossens R.: Remarkable observations of Synanthedon mesiaeformis (Lepidoptera, Sesiidae) in mid- and southern France.

The clearwing species Synanthedon mesiaeformis (Herrich-Schäffer, 1846) shows a disjunct distribution pattern in the northern, central and eastern part of Europe, in the south of France and the northeast of Spain (Lastuvka & Lastuvka 2008). In July 2016 the author found quite rich populations of this species in two places in France, situated far north and west from the currently known range, namely Châteauneuf-la-Fôret (Haute-Vienne) and Montbernard (Haute-Garonne).

The hitherto considered monomorphic female of Gonepteryx cleopatra fiorii Turati & Fiori, 1930 from Ródhos Island, Greece is now shown to be at least dimorphic. The validity of the single known record of a male Plebejides pylaon (Fischer de Waldheim, 1832) species-group specimen from Mt. Taíyetos, Pelopónnisos, Greece is discussed and reaffirmed.

Sinds 2007 werden 13 nieuwe, merkwaardige boktorsoorten aangetroffen aan de westrand van Brussel. Tevens wordt aandacht besteed aan enkele vangsten in de Botanische Tuin Jean Massart te Oudergem in de jaren 2013 tot 2016. De inleiding wordt gevolgd door een opsomming per soort, aangevuld met tekeningen en details over hun uitzicht, levenswijze en verspreiding.

A new individual form of Carabus (Chrysocarabus) auronitens ssp. auronitens (Coleoptera: Carabidae). The author makes a concise field report and describes a new individual form of Carabus (Chrysocarabus) auronitens ssp. auronitens and some particularities about the nominate species, other individual forms and the habitat in Normandy, France.

Galanos C. J.: First record of Danaus chrysippus from the Island of Sími (Symi), SE Aegean, Greece (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae, Danainae).
Phegea 45(1): 23–24.
The presence of Danaus chrysippus (Linnaeus, 1758) is documented for the first time from the Greek island of Simi. On account of this observation, the distribution of that species in Europe and the Mediterranean Basin, specifically in Greece and the Dodecanese Island Complex, as well as the total number of observed butterfly species of the Sími Island are discussed.

The validity of certain generic transfers of species-group taxa belonging to the subtribes Polyommatiti and Leptotiti (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae) is reexamined on the basis of genitalic evidence, and a generic rearrangement is proposed where this is deemed necessary.

Cuvelier S. & Windey R.: Een partieel teratologische Pyronia tithonus (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae, Satyrinae).
Phegea 45(2): 35–36.
De Benelux is het Europees bolwerk van Pyronia tithonus (Linnaeus, 1767). Tijdens de zomermaanden komt deze soort talrijk voor in ruige, bloemrijke graslanden nabij struikgewas. Ten zuidoosten van Klein Sinaai (Oost-Vlaanderen, België) fotografeerde en filmde de tweede auteur een uitgesproken partieel teratologisch exemplaar. Dit exemplaar wordt geïllustreerd en besproken.

Wullaert S.: Monochroa hornigi – duizendknoopboegsprietmot (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae), nieuw voor de Belgische fauna.
Phegea 45(2): 37–40.
Tijdens een biodiversiteitsaudit op 4.vii.2015 in Ename, “Bos t’Ename” (Oost-Vlaanderen) werd een moeilijk te determineren nachtvlindertje meegenomen ter controle. Onlangs werd het op de structuur van de genitaliën gecontroleerd en bleek het om Monochroa hornigi (Staudinger, 1883) te gaan. Deze soort wordt hier voor het eerst uit ons land gemeld. Gegevens over de biologie en verspreiding worden meegedeeld.

Cuvelier S. & Maertens D.: Trial test of external morphology-based identification of Leptidea sinapis, L. reali and L. juvernica (Lepidoptera: Pieridae) provides opportunity for an online identification platform.

The results of a trial to test identification criteria of external morphology of the Leptidea triplet (Leptidea sinapis, L. reali, L. juvernica) with blind readers using an online application are presented. The original application has been slightly modified and can now be used as a training module (http://butterfly.lifetrail.be) for the identification of these Leptidea species.

Troukens W.: De zwarte molmkever, Cerophytum elateroides (Coleoptera: Cerophytidae), opnieuw inheems in België.
Phegea 45(2): 46–48.
Op 21.v.2016 werd te Dilbeek (VB) een exemplaar gevangen van Cerophytum elateroides (Latreille, 1809). Dit xylobionte kevertje ontwikkelt zich in vermolmd en schimmelig hout van oude, robuuste loofbomen. In Europa is deze soort overal heel zeldzaam. In België zijn geen vangsten bekend tussen 1924 en 2008; daarna werd het kevertje opnieuw ontdekt in bosgebieden te Tongeren (LI), Bierbeek (VB) en nu ook te Dilbeek (VB). Heel recent is C. elateroides ook weer gemeld in Zuid-Nederland en Noord-Frankrijk.

Steeman C.: Horisme radicaria (Lepidoptera: Geometridae, Larentiinae), nieuw voor de Belgische fauna.

Op 7 mei 2016 werd in Han-sur-Lesse het eerste zekere exemplaar van Horisme radicaria voor België gevangen en gedetermineerd via een genitaalpreparaat. Omdat deze soort erg gelijkt op H. tersata werden oudere waarnemingen herbekeken. H. radicaria blijkt al zeker vanaf 2004 in België voor te komen.

Mølgaard M. S.: New distributional data regarding the butterflies (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea) of the Republic of Moldova.

From late May until early June 2016 the author visited the Republic of Moldova on a joint trip with Arne Lykke Viborg from Denmark. Hardly any literature (books, articles) exists about the butterfly fauna (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea) of Moldova mainly due to historical reasons. This trip was organized in order to improve the knowledge on the butterfly fauna of this country by visiting selected habitats. Our second aim was to try to rediscover Tomares nogelii (Herrich-Schäffer, 1851) in Moldova, where the species was suspected of being extinct. The third aim was to try to discover Neolycaena rhymnus (Eversmann, 1832) in Moldova for the first time, which has a large population in adjacent Ukraine. All observations of this trip are presented together with additional comments on the habitats visited. Four butterfly species are recorded for the first time from Moldova.

Dils J.: A new species of Chalcochiton (Diptera: Bombyliidae) from Morocco.

Chalcochiton maghrebi sp. n. is described from Morocco. The new species is compared with the West Palaearctic Chalcochiton species known from Morocco: C. maroccanus Zaitzev, 2006, C. merlei Zaitzev, 2006, C. atlantica Dils, 2008 and especially with C. holosericeus (Fabricius, 1794) which the new species resembles most.

Wullaert S.: Resultaten van de Werkgroep Bladmineerders uit 2016 met meldingen van minerende en andere zeldzame Lepidoptera in België en met 5 nieuwe soorten voor de Belgische fauna (Coleophoridae, Tortricidae, Gelechiidae en Nepticulidae).

Belangrijke meldingen van zeldzame en nieuwe soorten voor de Belgische fauna worden meegedeeld. De nieuwe soorten zijn: 1. Coleophora coronillae (Zeller, 1849) (Coleophoridae), 2 imago’s gevangen in het natuurgebied Negenoord-Kerkeweerd te Dilsen-Stokkem (LI) 9.vii.2016, op genitaal gecontroleerd. 2. Coleophora ramosella Zeller, 1849 (Coleophoridae), enkele imago’s werden tijdens een excursie te Maupas (NA) op 1.vii.2016 gevangen. De dag erna werden nog enkele exemplaren gevangen te Furfooz (NA) op 2.vii.2016, een gebied dat 15 km verwijderd ligt van de vorige vindplaats. Alle exemplaren werden microscopisch onderzocht. 3. Selenodes karelica (Tengström, 1875) (Tortricidae), één exemplaar werd tijdens een nachtvlinderinventarisatie te Torgny (LX) op 8.viii.2016 gevangen en naderhand op genitaal gecontroleerd. 4. Anacampsis timidella (Wocke, 1887) (Gelechiidae), tijdens dezelfde nachtinventarisatie te Torgny op 8.viii.2016 werd één exemplaar meegenomen en op genitaal gedetermineerd. 5. Stigmella mespilicola (Frey, 1856) (Nepticulidae), op 20.viii.2016 werd tijdens een inventarisatie in Tienne de Boton te Rochefort (NA) een bladmijn meegenomen op Sorbus torminalis waarvan het achteraf na DNA-onderzoek bleek te gaan om een nieuwe soort voor België.

Dit artikel bevat het resultaat van 7 jaar inventarisaties van de macro-nachtvlinderfauna in en rond het Nationaal Park De Hoge Kempen in Limburg, België (2010–2016). Ook de resultaten van andere (historische en hedendaagse) inventarisaties worden besproken. Een beschrijving van de verschillende types leefgebieden wordt gevolgd door een evaluatie van de aanwezigheid van de meest merkwaardige soorten.
