La présence en Grèce de Limenitis camilla (Linnaeus, 1763) est mentionnée ici pour la première fois. Une population de cette espèce fut trouvée sur les pentes méridionales des Monts Rhodopes.

De Prins W., van de Poorten D. & Bálint Zs.: Taxonomic revision of the North African species of the genus Plebejus Kluk, 1802 (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae).

Lectotypes are designated for Lycaena allardi Oberthür, 1874, Lycaena vogelii Oberthür, 1920 and Lycaena allardi ungemachi Rothschild, 1925. A neotype is designated for Lycaena martini Allard, 1867. The authors show with morphological and ecological characters that Plebejus martini (Allard, 1867) and Plebejus allardi (Oberthür, 1874) are not conspecific, as is generally assumed in the current entomological literature. Both species belong to the subgenus Plebejides Sauter, 1968. Lycaena allardi ungemachi Rothschild, 1925 is sunk as a synonym of Lycaena martini Allard, 1867. Plebejus vogelii (Oberthür, 1920) apparently belongs to a different group for which Bálint erected a new genus Maurus in 1991. In this paper the authors consider Maurus as a subgenus of Plebejus Kluk, 1802.

Tolman T.: On the life-history of Pseudophilotes bavius (Eversmann, 1832) in S. Greece, its distribution in the Peloponnesos and a new record for N. Greece (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae).

Salvia verbenaca has been confirmed as the main, if not, exclusive host-plant of Pseudophilotes bavius in S. Greece. No evidence for an association of bavius with Salvia argentea has been found. Experiences in the captive rearing of P. bavius are detailed, along with descriptions of the early stages. The presence of the species throughout an extensive region of the Peloponnesos has been established. The especially interesting observation of P. bavius in N. Greece has been included at the request of the discoverer, Mr. Ib Kreutzer of Denmark. The larval host-plant at this new location has not been determined, but, as careful surveys have failed to establish the presence of S. verbenaca, the use of an alternative Salvia species is clearly indicated.

The authors report the occurrence of 17 Pipunculid species from Germany, collected at Mötzlich, Halle during 1990. Two species, Dorylomorpha anderssoni and Tomosvaryella palliditarsis, are new to the German fauna.

Vanholder B.: Een geslaagde kweek van Agrius convolvuli (Linnaeus, 1758) in 1991 (Lepidoptera: Sphingidae).
Phegea 20(2): 61–67.
De auteur slaagde erin een geforceerde kweek ab ovo uit te voeren van Agrius convolvuli. De eitjes werden afgelegd door een wijfje dat in de herfst 1991 gevangen werd op tabaksbloemen te Haaltert (Oost-Vlaanderen). Details over het verloop van de kweek worden beschreven alsook info over de vruchtbaarheid van A. convolvuli in onze streken. Besloten wordt dat de vermeende steriliteit niet zo algemeen is als algemeen wordt aangenomen.

After a short introduction about the geographical situation of the Greek island of Santorini and its climatological circumstances, the author lists his own observations of butterflies on this island on 23 and 24 August 1991. In total 12 species are recorded.

Meuris R.: Dasypolia templi (Thunberg, 1792) aangetroffen te Oostakker (Oost-Vlaanderen) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae).

Eén wijfje van Dasypolia templi (Thunberg, 1792) werd gevangen op de muur van een fabriekshal te Oostakker (Oost-Vlaanderen) op 23 november 1991. Het exemplaar werd waarschijnlijk meegevoerd met een vrachtwagen vanuit Zweden. De soort is niet inheems in de lagere delen van West-Europa.

Tolman T.: The larval host-plant of Pontia chloridice (Hübner, [1813]) in Greece (Lepidoptera: Pieridae).

The larval host-plant of Pontia chloridice in Evros, N. E. Greece, has been established as Cleome ornithopodioides. A brief description of the pre-imaginal stadia is given. The pupa of chloridice is remarkable for mimicking a bird-dropping. Circumstantial evidence suggests that the species hibernates on stones within its biotope. It is further argued that the species hibernates as a pupa. Several widely-dispersed colonies of chloridice were found in Evros at altitudes of 50–250 m. The pupation strategies adopted by some members of the Pieridae and Papilionidae are compared and discussed briefly.

Olivier A.: Butterflies of the Greek island of Astipálea (Lepidoptera: Hesperioidea & Papilionoidea).
Phegea 20(3): 121–123.
The geographic situation, vegateation and paleogeography of the Greek island of Astipálea are briefly discussed, as well as their biogeographical implications. Five butterfly species were already known from the island (Turati 1929, Ghigi 1929), and the author adds four new species resulting from his visit on 10 June 1992. All species are widely distributed species in the Aegean region, the Greek mainland and West Turkey. It is therefore impossible to draw any conclusions about the biogeographical affinities of the butterfly fauna of Astipálea with the one if the Cyclades or the other East Aegean islands.

Haghebaert G. & Lodewyckx M.: Carabidae en Staphylinidae van het Groot Buitenschoor te Zandvliet (Scheldemonding,n Antwerpen) (Coleoptera: Carabidae, Staphylinidae).

Tijdens recente inventarisaties in het Groot Buitenschoot te Zandvliet werden 90 loopkevers en kortschildkevers gevonden. Het gebied is een van de laatste brakwatergebieden in België. Ecologische en chorologische details worden gegeven voor de meest interessante soorten.

Faquaet M. & Kindts B.: Perizoma sagittata (Fabricius, 1787): kweek van rups tot vlinder en nieuwe vindplaats van de soort in België (Lepidoptera: Geometridae).

De auteurs bespreken een kweek van Perizoma sagittata, met de bijzondere waarneming dat de pop twee jaar kan overwinteren. Zij vermelden deze soort voor het eerst uit het gebied "Het Leen" te Eeklo (Oost-Vlaanderen).

Recent captures show that Lomaspilis marginata f. bithynica Wehrli is not an aberrant form, but belongs to Lomaspilis opis (Butler, 1878), and it is described here as Lomaspilis opis bithynica ssp. n.

The female of Thymelicus novus (Reverdin, 1916) is described. The female genitalia of Thymelicus hyrax (Lederer, 1861) are described and differences in the structure of tergites 8 and 9+10 of all known Thymelicus species in Turkey and of Thymelicus hamza (Oberthür, 1876) are discussed and illustrated.

Azanus ubaldus (Cramer, 1782) is mentioned here for the first time from the island of Gran Canaria (Canary Islands). Morphological differences with the related species Azanus jesous (Guérin, 1847) are listed. A short description of the ecology and phenology of A. ubaldus is added.

Dall'Asta R.: Onderzoek naar de bodemfauna van de Lembeekse bossen.
Phegea 20(4): 155–159.
In de periode 5.viii.1989 tot 5.x.1991 werd onderzoek verricht naar de bodemfauna van de Lembeekse bossen (Oost-Vlaanderen). Er werd gebruik gemaakt van Baker-vallen gevuld met formol 4% die op regelmatige afstanden werden opgesteld in verschillende biotooptypes. Ongeveer 180 soorten geleedpotigen, overwegend kevers, werden aangetroffen, waarvan verscheidene zeldzaam zijn in België.
