Kolev Z.: Notes on the distribution and ecology of Balkan populations of the Plebeius idas - group (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae).
Phegea 33(1): 13–22.
The Plebeius idas - group in the Balkans is represented by at least two taxa, croatica Grund, 1913 and baldur Hemming, 1934, which differ morphologically and ecologically, but their relationship is unknown and data on both taxa are extremely scanty. This report briefly reviews the available information regarding the distribution and ecological preferences of both taxa, and provides new distributional and ecological data on Bulgarian populations of baldur. The Balkan endemic Chamaecytisus absinthioides (Fabaceae) is identified as a larval host plant. It is suggested, based on their coinciding ranges and field observations, that at least Bulgarian baldur is monophagous on C. absinthioides. Some possible implications of these observations are discussed, including the suggested bona species status of baldur.

In the three investigated brackish marshes adults were collected and pre-adult stages were reared, and as a result 116 species were recorded, of which 38 are typical for the tidal zone ecosystem. Coleophora saxicolella (Duponchel, 1843) and Monochroa moyses Uffen, 1991 are new for the Belgian fauna.

Poltavsky A. N.: Concept for the preservation of the Lepidoptera biodiversity in agrolandscapes.
Phegea 33(4): 145–150.
In the region around Rostov-on-Don the majority of the land is used for agricultural purposes and high quantities of insecticides are applied. The refugia in between these agricultural areas are threatened as well. To preserve the species richness in Lepidoptera and other insects, some measures need to be taken like the less frequent use of less persistent insectivides and the prohibition of application of these insecticides by aeroplanes.
